		<description><![CDATA[<p>As revelant today as ever, Shakespeare&#8217;s consummate tragedy of &#8220;star crossed&#8221; lovers swept into a catastrophic vortex of misunderstandings, secrets, violence and fate comes to the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts as the Blue Slipper presents William Shakespeare&#8217;s Romeo and Juliet, adapted and directed by Gillian Swanson, with performances from February 3rd-18th, with a special Valentine&#8217;s Day show on February 14th.</p>
<p>Set in a surreal, non-traditional Verona, a long, hot summer enflames an ancient fued between the Capulet and Montague families, leading to public brawls. As the tension builds in the streets, teeneagers Romeo (Evan Barrett) and Juliet (Audrey Laviolette) fall in love at first sight.  Married in secret, they hope for reconciliation between their families.  When short tempers lead to deadly consequences, the young lovers find themselves alone and on the run, facing impossible odds and making desperate decisions.  What starts as a bawdy teenage comedy transforms into a heart-stirring romance for the ages, and features the shining lyricism of Shakespeare&#8217;s extrordinary poetry.</p>
<p>This production marks the first time both local theaters have joined forces to bring a show like this to the community. <p>Romeo and Juliet plays Friday Feb. 3rd and Sat. Feb. 4th at 8pm, and Sunday Feb 5th at 3pm., Friday 10th at 8pm, Sat 11th both 3 &#038; 8 pm, Sun 12th at 3pm, Friday 17th 8pm and Sat 18th at 3 &#038; 8pm. Ticket prices are $12 adults, $10 for seniors/students-Cash or check only</p>
<p>There will be a special Valentine&#8217;s Day performance honoring retiring local music and voice teacher, Marcia McCarry.  For this particular performance, dinner will be at 6:30 pm, provided by Mustang Catering, and there will be an open bar for adult guests provided by Plonk of Bozeman.  The show will then start at 8pm. Price is $80 for two, including show tickets, dinner and refreshments.  Early reservations are recommended by calling 222-7720. </p>
